BIG BROTHER 21

Surprise, Surprise

Sunday's episode left us with Paul nominating both Alex and Josh for eviction. As we all know, Alex and Josh were both pawns to ultimately backdoor Cody. Cody deserved the backdoor after his poor ruling in last weeks events. Ramses also nominated himself after being cursed by the snake in Week 1. This plan seemed to have everyone on board except for "Jody", but they had distanced themselves into a corner all week to get away from the others anyway. They saw it coming from a mile away; as they should have.

All of the houseguest said their bedtime prayers late Friday night and hoped that neither Jessica or Cody were drawn for the veto. Saturday morning brought a veto draw that did not disappoint. Both Matt and Elena were drawn to play in a timed competition. Each houseguest would play the Travel Themed veto with hopes of having the best time.

It was already determined that everyone but Ramses and Alex would play for the veto. Ramses winning the shiny golden power would completely derail the plan to backdoor Cody. Each player worked their way through departure gates, similar to last years house theme, while fighting for the veto. All the house guests had trouble remembering the fine details required to avoid delays in their trip. Elena was the best to watch, she got stuck with nearly every delay. My favorite delay was the karate chop stop; I guess I'm flying through the wrong airports if that's an option during a layover.

Ramses said he "tried" to throw the competition, but it really looked as if he was trying to play for it to remove himself from the block. When the final times came in, Paul narrowly beat our Ramses to secure the veto and ensure his plan of backdooring Cody was a success.

Paul has been playing great so far, but his temptation has allowed him to take a few more risks than I think he should have. He keeps encouraging fights, especially with Josh and "Jody". It all unfolded at the veto ceremony when Josh called out Cody for his poor showmanship during last weeks HOH. This lead to a huge blowout at the meeting, with Paul standing on the side smiling. I love the drama, but I think people will put it together before long and send Paul packing.

My favorites for right now are Matt and Dominique. They are quiet, but very smart. They know when to speak and who to open up to. They seem to have themselves tucked into the larger alliance very nicely with no one talking about evicting them anytime soon.

Can't wait to see how the house shifts after tonight's eviction. My guess is Jessica doesn't win it and she is next to Ramses on the black this week, but we all know that wouldn't be Big Brother.
